    Hi everyone,

Well, same as the most I got a new update earlier today. Since the size is quite big BlackBerry asked me to clean some space first. 1,7 GB to be exact - so I did. All big sized apps were deleted, photos etc. moved to sd card.

Initial installation and download went fine and then I've noticed that another chunk was in progress, 1,5 GB this time.

It also downloaded fine. Now, here's a tricky part - my phone installed the first part OK, then downloaded and start installing the second AND was interrupted this time.

Interruption was during installation, not download - so I presume it did downloaded successfully and there were enough space to do it.

Yet, now - when I press update it keep telling me "Free another 1GB first". But, since the update failed initially I have like 2,94GB free already!

And even if I delete every single app left - I get only 940 MB. Not 1GB it asked me... and some apps are not possible to delete (some of pre-installed BlackBerry apps).

So, first time I see something like this and honestly have no idea how to fix it.

    I have Q10.

    Any suggestions?

my suggestion would be to do a hard reset. hold down the volume up and down keys until the device restarts. if the problem still persists. try backing up your device with blackberry link. once completed try updating through blackberry link. if that fails. back up your phone. factory reset it and then update it through blackberry link.

let me know how it goes. could you post a picture of your system info also? thanks

try doing a hard reset. hold the up and down volume keys until the device restarts. if that doesn't work. back up your device via link. wipe it download the new OS then restore your files.

a download package from blackberry such as the one I got 1.0gb has actually been confirmed to need 2.5gb to download and install successfully.

    best of luck

Thanks everyone! Would hard reset resets the phone to initial state or also wipe emails?

As of how it looks on my side, here you go:

okay I see, and no a hard reset will not effect any of the content of your phone. it simple shuts the system completely off and turns it back on.

and you should probably try deleting some unused apps for now. I'm not sure what is going on but blackberry's official answer is to install the update through link

Yes, I've mixed up mine and wife's BBs models (I'm not really hardcore BlackBerry user so to speak), my bad. Yet, as you can see - there is no way deleting the rest of the apps give me 1GB, as there is less than 1GB in apps space.

Btw, did hard reset. Same bull**** with "make 1GB more space"... it really make no sense, since somehow it was enough space the first time.

I wonder, if I somehow make additional 1GB of space and it fails again, it'll give me about 4GB of free space, right? And, looking at what I have now it might ask me to clean even more space... so a vicious circle so to speak...

Blackberry link solved the problem, yet even though the phone was updated to the latest firmware it still thinks it has to be updated. E.g. Auto update still trying to update itself and still forcing me to free more space; BlackBerry Link says - the phone is up-to-date...

Anyway, thanks for the help, guys!
