Haha...I dint know that u had already predicted about previous models! Sorry guruji
Lets c what happens this time. I really also dont think they are going to sell too much. But I think they will relatively sell well, considered if they will market it well.
Priv was a failure coz of price. KEYone is fairly priced in my opinion.
Let us wait and c?

Relax. Your response of "same fate as Priv" came quoting someone who posted the price. Only natural for someone to assume you don't think it will be a hit because of price since that is what you responded to.

If price isn't the factor then why not elaborate on why you think it won't do well rather then be condescending to the person responding to you?

And lastly, if every BlackBerry is so bad, what keeps you around exactly?

It's all about pricing, priv pricing was way to high for here, even am from india, mumbai, haven't seen any priv or Dteks, if the price of K1 was around 20/25k then it would sell as hotcake but 40k no way. And as the reputation BlackBerry have here it will more difficult for the stores to make them sell really well.

Has Optiemus Infracom officially announced they were going to distribute TCL's KEYone? And when in the roll out process they would get it?

Or have a few retailers just posted some info with the assumption that they can get it like just any other past BlackBerry?

TCL did state that they planned to sell phones in both India and Indonesia by working with those two licensees (who are both more distributors and not manufactures). But haven't seen an announcement.

FYI: The only site, that I know of, to proclaim it coming to India is OnlyMobiles.com and they've been less than honest in the past. When the DTEK50 and DTEK60 launched, they proclaimed to be the official authorized retailers for the device. They even issued a press release. A claim BlackBerry totally rebuked them on.

http://indiatoday.intoday.in/technol.../1/818079.html

Now, I'm not saying they won't sell it. I'm not saying it won't arrive in India. But what I am saying is that there's no official statement from BlackBerry Mobile confirming its arrival in India as of yet and the one retailer that is claiming it, has a rather sketchy past with their claims.

Optiemus Infracom, as exclusive licencee for India, will be designing, manufacturing, marketing, selling, and supporting BlackBerry Android devices specific to your market. You can judge then.

I've heard this claim come second hand from several people, but to my knowledge, they are not nor do they claim any affiliation throughout any of their website material. I'm not looking to discredit them in any way, if they are the retailers for it then I'm glad to be proven wrong and I'm glad India will have access to it.

However, I'm just stating what is known based on their previous actions and known information. It's highly possible they may have worked something out but as I noted, previously they were claiming to be the exclusive online retailer for DTEK50 and DTEK60 which BlackBerry India, at the time, categorically denied.

To me, BB.in channel team told. I even asked them again to confirm it last day when somebody corrected me with optiemus official website (no sales there) too. They still stuck with their word. They told, they had spoken with optiemus and confirmed it. Don't know the reality!

I don't know.

But I'm sure they'll figure out some way to sell their devices - either direct or through local retailers.

Exactly, which is why I suggested people be careful with the information. There's mixed messages coming out of India. Until some sort of press release or comment comes from BlackBerry Mobile in regards to the device being sold in India, I wouldn't be taking a retailer's word for it.

It doesn't really have much bearing on how Optiemus Infracom will do in India with their own BlackBerry Android devices.

If the KEYone even comes to India at all, it will still just be an imported product.
