I pulled my IMEI number off my phone and sent myself a screenshot. I read the number digit for digit and was told it is missing a digit. How do I find the extra digit?

The IMEI structure is two digits, then six digits, then six digits, then either one or two digits; 15 or 16 digits. For example, the IMEI from my phone (Android, so Settings > About phone > IMEI information) is listed like XXYYYYYYZZZZZZ6, where the final digit is a checksum of the previous digits. However, there is also the IMEI SV value (03 for me), in which case my IMEI would in fact be XXYYYYYYZZZZZZ03; the first 14 digits plus the IMEI SV. If you're reading out a 15 digit IMEI try sending them the 16 digit one instead.
