    Hi Guys,

I am wondering if I can install Play Store on my phone. Could you tell me the procedure, how to get it? Your positive advice is highly expected.

    Thanks in advance

For apps that use google services (tinder, snapchat, instagram), get a really old version then update them using Google play. They won't work at all if you don't do that step.

Question - is this easy to do? installing an older version?
I've only ever used Snap, haven't tried Cobalt's Play Store yet but in Snap you don't really have the ability to just pick the version you want to install - is it different in Cobalt's Play Store?
I've seen you post this tip in a couple places so I figured I would finally ask you how it's actually accomplished.
    Thanks!

i'll give you the same tip word for word :P

    Steps in order with links:
    1. download Download Snapchat 4.1.07 APK File (snapchat.apk) - APK4Fun
Tinder 3.2.1 APK for Android - Direct Download Link - APK Releases
Instagram old versions - Android (get an older version)

    2. sign in (don't worry about the google services message just click off of it)

    3. download https://drive.bitcasa.com/send/o47T7...opxejUCIxrvxER sign in with google account (i can't but others can, mine seems to work without signing in)

    4. download https://drive.bitcasa.com/send/Tqmfc...dHyFtJeV_nE0dH register device, go to the 3 dots in the top right which goes into your android runtime make sure everything is on.

    5. download https://drive.bitcasa.com/send/n2v3K...M0Lj84EqIMftDQ sign in to your google account ->go to my apps -> update snapchat

This process should take no more than 15min, no need to use a computer.

Here is something that i have noticed. Some people that are not running 10.3.1.2582 android runtime cannot get it working, it's kind of a 50/50 thing. If you don't have the OS installed, no biggie. You just have to make a thread in beta leak OS forum asking someone for them. It's 2 bar files that need to be sideloaded. It will be 100% safe to do on any 10.3.1 OS.

I suggest you try the steps before you spend all that time first. It's only a 15min job. or you can use the old versions but who doesn't want the latest release with headless update notifications,

Hello. I've read many threads over the last 6 months however I can't really decide from reading : so my question is : is there any other reason to install Google play besides for snap chat. I don't reall use any social media except for twitter and FB. I do use many apps for the security system at our stores, and several satellite images and info apps, and climate apps for our business. They seem to work well on my Passport. All those apps came from snap. I do get the message once in a while and I tap on the screen and they go away. The one thing I wish I could do is stream Amazon prime movies on my passport. Will Goggle play fix that. Thank You so much

I've kind of been spamming it so people can find out about it. :P

If you don't use apps that require google services then you don't need Google Play store. You can make do with Snap. I don't have amazon prime so i can't test it for you.

The only positive thing about the play store without using apps that have google services is that it pushes notifications to the HUB to update your current app.

if you get the message and you can just tap out of it, usually it's the same with google play. Snapchat is an example of it.

overall, for your usage i wouldn't worry about it yet. Cobalt is always updating it so maybe we might get lucky and get more google service integration with it in the future,

    Alright khehl,
    1) Thanks:
I would just like to thank you for taking the time to put these instructions together - you're the best!
    2) Apps:
The 3 apps you listed are Snapchat, Tinder, and Instagram:
Snapchat - This is the one I'm really trying to get to work here, and I'm having some issues.
Tinder - I have a working version from the Amazon Appstore - there's no advantage to using this one is there?
    Instagram - I don't use.
I'm also trying to get Yik Yak to work, I don't know if you use Yik Yak or know anything about it but I'm having problems with that one too.
    3) Files:
So I actually used the files from Mega listed on Cobalt's post http://forums.crackberry.com/android...oading-985344/ - I don't know if that makes any difference, they look like the same files you listed here (but I saw this after I downloaded the others)
    4) Snapchat issues:
So afaik I successfully installed & signed into Google Account, Blackberry Google ID, and Play Store as per your & Cobalt's instructions.
I downloaded the Snapchat 4.1.07 apk file from the link you provided.
I opened Snapchat and of course it prompted an update in the Play Store app, so I installed the update.
Now I'm getting the "Get Google Play services" prompt again.
You can't use the app at all because this prompt just pops up when I try to Log In or Sign Up.
Am I actually supposed to download the Google Play Services app? I wasn't sure - so I tried that and it failed to install (which I'm assuming is normal on a BlackBerry?)
    So I'm stuck.

(Yik Yak has a similar issue where it prompts me to turn on Location Services but they're already on so that app doesn't work either)

Any more help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

A little more detail for you:
When I said "I opened Snapchat and of course it prompted an update in the Play Store app, so I installed the update." The exact prompt it gave me was "Your username was previously locked for using third-party applications. You are curently using Snapchat version 4.1.7. To use Snapchat again, please upgrade to the latest version. Thanks and Happy Snapping!"

I also cannot create a new account on the old version, it gives me a prompt saying "Please update Snapchat to the latest version to create an account."
