I can't move my icons onto the homepage?

Whenever I try to move an app or an icon by dragging it over to the hompage I'm not allowed. Am I doing something wrong or missing something?

That's the home page...no app icons go there. Only open apps will appear there.

BerryRipe is correct. The Home Page is only for OPEN apps, and they appear in Active Tiles on the Home Screen. You can, however, rearrange your icons to the order you want on the first page following the Home Screen so that you can My most frequently used icons appear on have easy access to the ones you use most often. That's what I've done. The apps I use regularly are on the first screen following the Home Screen, and those used less often are either placed in folders on a screen or are on later screens.

You can remove the permanent home screen. Go to the display settings
