You can do this by installing DropBox on your Classic and MacBook Air and using Wi-Fi to connect to your free DropBox account.

I use Onedrive - same idea as DropBox. Bluetooth doesn't work from my Classic - source of endless frustration.

In OneDrive you do have to be a bit careful because it will take a few minutes for the pictures to actually transfer - I generally drive myself a bit nuts looking for the pictures to show up immediately, forgetting that it takes a couple of minutes to synchronize.

dropbox worked ! tx so much. have been working on this late into the nights past 3 days, many hours without success: until now. Dropbox allowed mass transfer of some 3-400 photos & videos. Again, tx for your solution. Well done !!!
