I don't find this option on voicemail options nor or help Am I missing something? It never rings long enuf for me to get to it to answer when I'm not right next to it, and was hoping there was a way to get override the apparently pre-set length of time the ringtone sounds before going to voicemail

that's set up from vzw not for you to set and that's not an option on any phone if i'm not mistaking

Call Verizon. I believe that they can change that preset. I think it's a time length thing as opposed to a set number of rings. See what they say. You also might want to try a louder ring tone.
