    Hello, I am helping a friend set up a new blackberry but the only thing I haven't been able to work out is how to transfer BBM contacts from the old handset to the new one. Also is it possible to keep the same pin with the new device? Any assistance would be much appreciated...

    It automatically gets added once you configure your bbm with your BlackBerry id. And as far as PIN is concerned, I'm sorry to say that it will be changed as it is associated with the device...but no need to worry cos your contact will be updated on their own with your new pin...

    Hi, thanks for the reply - and makes sense on the PIN. Sorry to sound a bit dumb but I'm not much of a Blackberry genius... do you mean that once I link the new handset up with the BB ID the BBM contacts will transfer automatically? Just asking cos the last time I set someones phone up it didn't and they had to re-invite all their BBM contacts...

    It's not only about linking your device with BlackBerry id but about logging in to bbm with BlackBerry id.... and bullseye...

    Simply tap the BBM icon and log in with the user's BlackBerry ID. The BBM contact list will sort itself out in under a minute.
