I'm sure there are bugs, but can the older BB10 devices like the Q10 and Classic handle modern android apps okay? The only apps I need are Spotify, Kik messenger, and Google Maps. I want to get something more rudimentary. I'm tired of having a shiny android phone that sucks up way too much of my time. I'd basically like my phone as a communication tool, music player, and navigator. Thanks.

Not great (with/without work-arounds). I would not recommend for the apps you want.

Two big problems that are only getting worse as time goes by:
The BB10 Android Runtime is Android version 4.3. Android is now at version 7.1 (Nougat).

There is no Google Play Services with BB10. You can try installing Cobalt's GPS software and try patching apps if that what you want to do.
