    If it's turned on there will be a little lightning bolt in the middle of the battery icon on the top right corner, and if it's turned off the led should pulse a yellowish color which will turn green when fully charged. Hope that helps

    To the OP, 99% of devices exhibit this indication. It's quite standard.

    Similar question. My playbook was in a box for a year. I took it out and now after 24 hours on charger all I get is either a solid red LED or a faint redish battery outline in the middle of the screen with a lightning bolt in it.

    What does this mean?
