Other than covering the sensor is there a setting that keeps the screen dimmed?

If yu meant reducing the brightness of the screen.. go to settings-display-brightness. But only thing is if yu reduce brightness its difficult to see the contents on screen in direct sunlight.

Thanks, but my display setting for brightness is already set at the lowest setting, but does not dim the screen as much as covering the light sensor. The dimness with the sensor covered seems more optimal for indoor use in my particular surroundings.
