Surface tablet keeps telling me that Blackberry Link is not available and I can't find a relevant app in the Windows store. Is there another way to sync pictures with my tablet?

Can you do it through SMB? If the tablet and your handset are on the same network you can just navigate to the device by using its IP address.

Also, is your tablet true Windows or an RT version, as Link is available for full Windows up to 8.1.

If this is a surface RT tablet, then you should be able to send them over blue tooth. If you save your pictures to your SD card then you can simply mount the SD card on the desktop over USB or rake it out and out it into the slot on the tablet. I usually use bluetooth to my Surface pro since I usually only send a few at a time
