    Dear guys,

I'm having a BIG issue with me Blackberry Z10...
It randomly reboots itself... mostly in my pocket but also when it gets moved a little harsh. e.g. When I drop it on the couch coming home from school BOOM it reboots...
It's really starting to freak me out to such a point where I'm really considering going back to Android...

The problem is I love blackberry OS...
But due to the reboots my battery only lasts a couple of hours...
And half of the time it's useless 'cause it's rebooting...

I thought it was a hardware problem so I sent it back to the store,
4 weeks later I received a brand new Z10, in the beginning it worked fine...
4 days later... exactly the same problem...

So I figured it was a software problem...
Now I'm on 10.3.1 it still does the same thing...

I really need help with this please!
I love my z10 and would be very sad to see it go...
If anyone knows a solution let me now!

    Kinds regards,
    Quinten.

Hello, your battery is a bit loose. Just fold a little piece of paper at the back side of the battery and that should solve it. Now you know why BlackBerry doesn't want to do phones with removable batteries anymore hahaha.

Hello, one more thing. OP was talking about a Z10 and that particular model suffers sometimes of the loose battery problem. Would have never suggested that with the Z30.

I'm trying to establish if this is the same guy who complained about his Z10 (who now also has a Z30). Or is this a new guy saying this about his Z30. Makes a difference as to what I suggest.

It could also be a faulty battery if this only happens for example when the battery is half full or less but never happens when the battery is fully charged. Had this with my limited edition Z10. I bought a new battery and never had this issue again.

Thanks for answering my question so quickly! It worked, I also put a case on it so the power button is a little harder to press, so it won't turn off in my pocket by pressing the power button! (I posted this question 'anonymously' because I needed a quick answer and didn't want to bother creating an account, but I did now since I wanted to thank you for helping me battery life got waaaaaay better!

    Hello folks,

here is the guy who has a Z10 and a Z30 which behave this way. To explain it to you, I'm responsible for 85 BlackBerry with OS 10 in my company. 5 of 73 Z10 restart abnormally, 1 of 5 Z30 do so, none of the 5 Q10, and none of the 2 passports we have.

Sorry if I got the wrong thread.

    Hello,
I would advise for the Z30 to wipe and reload the OS using link and for the Z10 it could be loose battery or software related. I had random rebooting on my Z10. I just reloaded the OS using link and all problems were solved.

    Hi guys,
I have a Z10 that suffers the reboot problem as well.

I had tried a bit of cardboard which made the battery very tight, but it still did it.
The battery/phone gets very hot when it happens.
The other day the phone rebooted and wouldn't start up. It would get to 100% and stop
I could hold the screen to show 100% bit hours later and no success.
I tried pulling the battery for a while and still no joy.
Thankfully I had just backed up my phone using link, so did a restore and upgraded it.
Then I tried to restore from the backup, but every time it would fail at the start. The first few times it would say the update had been stopped, then after the phone would restart every time
I did a small backup and a full and both wouldn't work.

Took ages to get some data back such as contacts, but I had lost all entries in the calendar which was a bad thing as I had been keeping track of doc visits, meds and so forth.

I now have a better backup app so hopefully I'm safe now.

It restarts in my pocket a lot which I'm attributing to getting too hot.
But it would restart sitting on a table undisturbed.

It's giving me the proverbial and really starring to annoy me. It has restarted during a phone call which was super important.

The phone I believe is out of warranty as I've had it longer than 12 months. I did think it might still be in warranty as my previous phone (Torch) had a sim card issue that required a new som card board and they replaced the phone and that was nearly 2 years later. But I got an email from BlackBerry saying all phones were only 12 months???

Anyways, I hope I've provided sufficient info and described the problem and symptoms etc to help identify a possible cause

    Oh yeah, the info bits...

I have the same reboot problem with my z10. Mine seems random and does it several times back to back. I haven't yet noticed a theme to when it happens but battery might be responsible.
