    Turn off Encryption in Settings/Security and Privacy/Encryption on where the photos are on the device. Device or Media Card.

    Which OS (legacy or BB10)? On BBOS models, even if you turn encryption off, the encrypted files will remain encrypted unless you rename them or move them after turning encryption off. On BB10 file encryption is undone when encryption is turned off. However, either way, if you use the desktop software to sync files to the computer the files on the computer will not be encrypted.
