I have a Z3 and want to know if leaving the apps running on the home screen is just like a windows phone, they are live all the time and then my next question is do they drain the battery more by leaving them running like that ? What about the resources, do they get drained as well ?

    Thanks

Leaving apps open in an active frame keeps it down to minimal but still active usage. Meaning yes, it's still running in the background.

Also, it does have an effect on the battery. Obviously drains more as more are kept open. One or two shouldn't be too bad, but the app also matters. Some apps stay 100% active in the background, others run at a minimum.
