i think this is because they detect the device as "rooted." Its not rooted but for some reason some apps think it is
I saw the flixster app was available in app world but when it i tried to download it said "not available for this device". It works on my wife's Z10 though. Flixster is the account where i have all my digital movies.

I realize I'm coming into this late, but I would be interested to know what OS version your wife is running on her Z10. I have Flixster installed because I want to watch movies from my Ultraviolet account, too. This worked when I had 10.2.1.xxxx installed. After installing 10.3.1.xxxx, Flixster no longer works. The app starts, shows movie times and locations, even shows movies in my Ultraviolet account, but will not play them. I'm thinking Flixster needs an update to work with later versions of BB OS. Until that happens we may be out of luck.
I just tried viewing an Ultraviolet movie in Flixster again, and when I click on "Watch Now" this is what I see:

You can't see the text in the black band across the top of the image, but I was able to read it by loading the image in The GIMP. It reads "To view this page ensure that Adobe Flash Player version 11.1.0 or greater is installed." Apparently, BB OS 10.3.1.xxxx has an older version of the Adobe Flash Player than Flixster requires.
OK, last post, I promise. :) The image in my last post was from the native (BlackBerry) version of Flixster. I just downloaded and installed the Android version from the Amazon App Store, and I'm getting the same error message that the OP included in his first post. Looks like we're out of luck for until somebody (Flixster or BlackBerry) addresses the issue.
