Hello. I recently got an unlocked Verizon unlocked 9930 to be used on Airtel India, with BES for my company e-mail.

The phone can access Airtel's network, make calls and send texts, however cannot register to the blackberry network.

Airtel confirms that BES is enabled on their end, however, on my phone, edge shows up in lower case, BIS and BES both show up as "Not connected". Rebooting the phone or trying manual registration doesn't work either.

Someone suggested Airtel might not have service books for this phone, so I restored service books from my last 8520 which was successfully registered on Airtel India, but it didn't help either.

What could I be missing? Would the phone be completely unusable on Airtel's network?

Under network settings, is there something you can switch from CDMA to GSM?
