Hey, is there any way to check which app is sending how much data? Is there an app for that? I got a problem - i got tons of apps, and the data usage is quite large even while Im not doing anything special - just whatsapp messaging and in one day its like 50mb. I have to control it somehow, but i dont know which apps is to blame - at most.

I'm not aware of an app that will do that for you, sorry. However, the new 10.3.x OS's do track upload/download data usage, right down to the individual app. It's quite handy.

If you're comfortable with the idea of using a leaked version you could get that right away. If not, you'd have to await the official rollout. We don't have an exact date, but we expect it by the end of the year (perhaps sooner).

You can, if you want, list out the apps here that you suspect may be the cause and we can give you some suggestions.

Candidate No.1 causing most of these problems is normally the Hub. How many accounts do you have and what update intervals did you configure? What happens if you close (remove from Hub) some of these accounts?

I got 2 email accounts with a 30min interval. Apart from that there is a few normal, regular social thingies. Whatsapp, fb, bbm, 4sq, twitter, linkedin. Sms. Enterprise IM. I guess thats all. Im not a serious user of these to be honest, the amount of data provided by the hub is nowhere near 50mbs per day. At least - it doesnt seem like it. I managed to check the interval only for emails. Is there some kind of refresh interval for other apps?

What about the device monitor? You can see how much apps download and upload within 48h. BBM is a candidate for unaccountable traffic. Am also wondering what it uses all the data for...

Seriously, i got two contacts in bbm, rarely in use. Unfortunately nobody is using it at my place. It cant be generating so much traffic. Maybe bbm channels? I got like two of them, just to check how does it work, but again - rarely in use.

What about that device monitor? Is that an app to track the data per app? I couldnt find any, which could do that. Could you send the link to BlackBerry world?

My brother isn't using bbm at all and it sometimes uses 30mb traffic within 2 days. The device monitor is part of the operating system, where you check the battery status. When you get on memory and click on the app you want to check it should show you the battery usage, cpu usage and the data usage of the respective app.

Holy smoke, CRACKBERRY APP is responsible for the largest daily piece of traffic. Last 48h, thats more than 25mb. Kinda strange when im checking it out like 2-3 times a day. I'd say thats not that many. A shame, because i like the news here. I would expect that a mobile app would be more mobile friendly and be a bit more light weight.

Thanks a lot for bringing me the awareness about the device monitor! Lol i didnt know about that, i thought its only the battery there in the battery tab.

Where can i ask CB to optimize the app?

You can post a comment herehttp://forums.crackberry.com/crackberry-apps-f280/ if the manual refresh doesn't work for you.
