CNN Breaking news got hold of my email address and I've been trying to unsubscribe for a month now. I've searched for a block option but can't find it

Try blocking it from your actual mail provider using web mail rather than using an app on the phone.

I didn't try to block any email contact yet but I find something in hub settings for you.
Maybe it will work very easily.
    Go to 'Hub'.
    Tap on three vertical 'Dots'
    Find 'settings' and open it.
Then find 'Recent contact management' and tap on it. That is one you are looking for.
Here you will see all your email contact, easily tap on any contact for block them.

#3 is right. The best and most consequent way for blocking unwanted email starts always on the incoming mail server. Check the spam filtering capabilities on the website of your mail server. Using device capabilities is not good - you change the device and have again all these crap immediately.
