From the phone app swipe from the top, hit settings, then choose "show my phone number" and turn it off

    I have a Z10 and don't see this.

I thought it was the phone company that controls this, not your phone.

from my understanding from friends doing this its a paid service by the carrier they can privatize your number on outgoing calls so people cant see it.

You're right. It's up to carriers to make this available. I remember reading that in India, it's just not allowed, so carriers obviously don't do it.

My carrier has made this available for free. A friend works at a place where their landlines have this feature. I'll have to ask her if they pay extra for it.

I guess the next question should be who are you calling that you don't want them to see who you are, and why?

Can't you type in like #72 (or something like that) before you dial the number to block yours?
