I presume you mean data using Mobile Network or Wi-Fi, correct? If you are connected to a Wi-Fi network then a Wi-Fi signal indicator should appear on the upper right hand side of the device's screen.
That's what is was expecting but I dint instead 4g was there. I checked if I was connected and I was. Plus I even turned off mobile antenna and only after that it showed the wifi signal bar. Yet now it suddenly shows on its own could be some bug or bad connection with wifi network

Even if it's ON, the Wi-Fi signal indicator won't appear if your device doesn't detect any nearby Wi-Fi connections.
Personally, I don't think you have a proper wifi connection. I would go to a place that offers free wifi and try it there and see if you get the icon on the upper right of your screen
Q10 with Telus on 10.3.1.396

This is fly weird and I need to know when I am using wifi

The wifi signal is too weak to register as really connected and your phone will default back to the mobile data connection. hope that helped.
You'll know when you are using wifi when the 4G (or your carrier's name) gets replaced by the "curved lines" wifi symbol on the top right corner of your home screen.

That's the thing I doesn't get replaced. But I am using wifi it just won't show. I tried to turn off mobile data and see if wifi works and it does.

Ok that could be the case for a weak signal but if I disconnect with the wifi network it shows two or three bars. I personally think it's a bug.

Well, the wifi signal you showed on your screen cap was definitely not strong enough (has to have at least one green "arc").
Take a screen cap of what your home screen looks like when you disconnect from the mobile network.

From those screensshots it's either a phone problem or wifi settings problem. Have you looked at the individual settings for that connection and made sure it's correct?

Yeah I know it's weird. I think I might have fixed it. I need to see if it's really fixed

It seems that a reboot fixes the problem. But it shouldn't be necessary. I am not sure what else to do??????

Ok so I figured out its a software bug. Because once I get to my home network it connects to wifi but doesn't show it . But if I press the dialer or phone ap the wifi simbol appears. Anyone with a passport that can confirm this. Oh and btw it's not just my home network but several others aswell.
