I plugged the original blackberry 120 volt power cord into the ac outlet of my boat, which in turn is powered by an inverter. This worked many times. However, when I plugged the blackberry in first and then switched on the inverter it failed to charge and now will not charge from any charger. A note appeared on the screen saying that the phone detected a power surge and (like a circuit breaker) shut down the charging. The note said that to fixed I would need to reset or add a USB Dongle. Never heard of such a thing. Now the battery is completely dead and will not respond to a charger. Is there some software you can use from a desktop to tell it to start up? Or a way to reset the unit with a pin?
