My sister upgraded to a Q10 yesterday from a 9630. She uses gmail. We transferred all of her information from the 9630 to the Q10 using BB link. After that we set her contacts to sync with gmail.

All of her gmail entries synced with the Q10, but her previous BB contacts (moved from the 9630 to the Q10) have not synced with gmail.

Is there something else we need to do to get this to work? Or do the old BB contacts not sync with gmail?

Blackberry 10 treats the contacts differently. They are separated into categories. So all the contacts transferred from the old phone to new phone are probably "local" or "Sim card" contacts. They will not sync with Gmail.

Only contacts saved as a Gmail contact will sync with Gmail.

For all the local contacts. You have to select them all and then copy to and select Gmail. Then they will sync up.

Or you could do it by selecting 3 dots bottom right and copy to while viewing the specific contact
