Has anyone else had a problem with the headphone jack on their BlackBerry devices?
On my old Z10 I'm unable to shove the earphone jack all the way in to the port, and now my Passport's jack just gave out today. I don't understand how it happens. The earphone jack sticks out about 2 mm now, and it doesn't actually connect to the phone.

While this won't help you now, remember this for future use.
Never SHOVE things into what should be considered as Delicate.

And if I'm right ( and I'm always right) you've dropped your device more than once.
I believe you confused "well crafted" to mean indestructible.

If you had been paying attention to your devices you'd have seen how time and use wear things out.
My Z10 and Passport are still as new as the day i purchased them, as are the ports. I clean them daily and have never used a screen protector or case and there is not one scratch on them.

I know this isn't the answer you were looking for but I believe giving it to you straight will serve you better with future devices.

.. I rarely, if ever, drop my phones onto anything.
Perhaps a better word I should've used was "inserted" rather than shoved... & my ports are clean.
You're wrong on at least one account now. Not very helpful. Thanks..

Have you checked if there is some unwanted debris inside that's preventing the headphone jack to be inserted all the way in?

I cleaned it out, but the jack still sticks out from the port about as much as the thickness of the steel ring at the top of the jack.

Try another headphone. I remember I had to push the headphone in the first time on the Z10. Never had this issue on the Passport as far as I remember.
