'Green' LED Network Indicator.

The legacy Green LED blinking for network indicator should be in the OS 10.3. I have been using BlackBerry for the past 4 years. Bold 9000, Bold 9700, Bold 9790, Bold 9900, Curve 8520, Curve 9300, Pearl, Z10 and now Q10. I have been with BlackBerry for years and will always be, just because I need a typing machine in my hands and only BlackBerry can fulfill it. Whether its personal/office emails, social networking updates, bbm whatever. This device is perfectly for us, the people who really knows the value of a qwerty keypad and specially designed for type-writers. My concern is I miss the legacy green blinking indicator for my device, this was not in my Z10 neither its on my Q10 now. I did some research online and found out that this option is no more in OS 10. I would love to get the indicator back on the OS 10.3. Anybody who has mutual feelings?.

Well.. I use Hub++ and the green led is still there. So no worries my friend. I use it for whatsapp notifications, but you could set it up for a lot of different things. Good luck!

My first question about my brand new Z30 was: damned, where's the green LED??? With Hub++ it's easy. But now I use the opposite: I turn on a red blinking LED if I have NO cellular network. Better for battery life.

So that means I have to buy the application?. I wish it could come built in with the new OS. I am located in Karachi,Pakistan.

There is a free version of Hub++ I believe.
EDIT: At least I thought there was....

Why do you need a blinking G light to tell you if you have service. It seems easy enough to look at the screen. And, are you going in and out that many times a day? And, if you're out of service, what do you do. Don't you just deal with it? It's not like you can make service appear.

I'm confused as to why people miss this. I never used it

I am usually in my office or home and have Wifi at both the localities. It was a kind of an attraction, I miss that on my phone.

For now there isn't but to buy Hub++. At first I was hesitating too, but I did buy it eventually because of the green LED (it's the only app I ever bought in my life). I didn't regret it a single moment. It's a great app and is headless. I can now see what kind of message I have by the way which color my LED is blinking. It should be in OS, but blackberry want's more apps in bbw, so they let 3rd parties build apps like these I guess..

It's not that easy. The loss of the network is an extraordinary event. It changes at least the conditions for many other functions or makes them impossible. So I would prefer to make this situation visible, more visible than the small icon in the corner.

Example: you decide to use wifi because you plan to move around a lot of data, make software updates and so on. Then you open an app to do this - this means you don't see the network icon anymore. And a minute later the wife comes and turns off the wifi router which is in the neighbor room. Then your device switches clandestinely to cellular and all these data are pumped through your cellular data connection. Damned, that is exactly what you didn't want.

So maybe this is a bigger deal to people on metered connections

This is a huge deal to me!!! No BlackBerry App does this - I thought it would be easy and many would need it...some on android but although can download them, won't work

I like the blinking indicator too, its from the older Motorola phones that had it as well! Cool feature...
