So the preferred method to backup DTEK50 calendar and contacts is through a Google Account. Yes, I know Google has privacy settings, yet we are still giving our information to Google. This seems to contradict the famous BB privacy and security features. Previously with desktop software all information was kept on the PC, not in a cloud.

BlackBerry used to do the exact same cloud backup on BBOS through BlackBerry Protect.

The difference is that Google has much better firewalls.

Never understood why they dropped that feature from BB10.... they had bought the cloud company and it just seemed like a BlackBerry cloud backup would be a perfect fit.
