Provided you've installed Cobalt's patched apk correctly there will still be some apps which will need to be patched to remove the Google play dependency.
Potentially, however, if you are on OS 2876 there is a fault in the Android runtime which may be affecting your install and that may also be causing problems.
Try patching your problem apps with Cobalt's GMAPS patcher.
