How do I free up storage space on user side? I have an SD card that has space available?

Move all your photos, music and videos to the SD card, set it so that all future downloads, photos etc are stored there, move the apk files (you can't move the apps themselves) to the SD card, and delete what you don't need to keep from the phone.

When I found all the APK in my download folder... I was very happy with the space I freed up. Really wish we could set the default download folder to the SD card....

Also look at your sync time frames with different accounts... if you can shorten them, that reduce the data file sizes.
