Trying to restart my nephews phone he forgot the security password setup how do you factory reset without it to wipe passwords and all

you would do a security wipe. Go to settings and choose security and then security wipe. He will lose all data.

Yes it will, but without that password the device is useless.

Try password recovery from BlackBerry id before wiping device. You'll need access to original email associated with BBid.
