My question relates to the DTEK50 and the format of the SD card.

Background: The internal memory of 16GB is quickly filling up. So I want to move the apps to the SD card. Then I found out that there are two ways of formatting the SD card (1) [as] Internal Memory and (2) Portable. After some searching, I found out that in order to move apps from the internal memory of the phone to the SD card, I need to format the SD card to be used as the "internal memory".

Problem: When I formatted the SD card to "1" (see above), I could move apps from the internal memory of the phone to the SD card. GREAT! However, when I opened the Camera app, photos can no longer be saved to the SD card (only to the internal memory of the phone) - which defeats the purpose.

I formatted the SD Card back to "Portable", now I could save Camera photos to the SD card but I could no longer move apps to the SD card.

Can someone explain why it is one or the other?

    Thanks.

When formatted as internal, the camera will actually be saving photos to the SD card by default.
It just "thinks" it's saving to internal. The OS is managing where to actually save data.

well i am sure there is a nice long explanation in here somewhere. But apps were never able to be on an SD card anyway....even when people say they are, it's just "parts" of the app, not the entire app.
I agree, would rather have my photos and videos on an SD card that I can remove from my phone and put into my PC....
