I'm in Florisa on vacation and dropped my z30 into the water. I grabbed it out right away and opened it up. Now it has a battery error. Is my phone dead for good?

Put it in a bowl of "dry"rice for a day or two. Check the forums for the rice cure.

What he told you to do pretty much needs to be done right away. (bowl of rice, basically a desicant)
If it's been a while since you've pulled it out of the water then, yes. It is pretty much dead.
What model is this? If it is toast, let me know I may be interested in it for parts.
the rice thing really works. just make sure not to power on the phone immediately after.. water can short out parts and fry your board inside. if you didnt see a blue screen or your screen isnt completely black, you have a chance.
A Z30 is pretty well sealed and only for a few seconds you say?
Do the rice thing for a couple of days. I'm pretty sure it'll be fine.

I dropped my z30 into a bowl of washing up water this morning it was only in the water for a split second took the back of right away and removed the aim and memory cards. I could not remove the battery and the phone kept trying to reboot but stopped half way throw the start up sometimes with the error message 0020 which is a battery fault. Did not have time for the rice thing so dried the phone using hot air blowing it through the sim and card slot.. the phone kept trying to start but with no avail more heat more blowing.. and it came back and still working
