    Hi,

The other day my phone fell out of my pocket and into a pool. I fished it out straight away (about1-2 seconds) and took out the battery and SIM card. I then wiped it with my shirt and left it to dry for about 3 hours before I put the battery in again, it didn't work so I took the battery out and put the phone in a bowl of dry rice overnight. When I woke up my phone worked normally for about an hour and the the keys didnt work so I'm going to leave it for another week to let it dry out. Any Advise

BTW it never short fused or blew up or anything.

Electronics in a smartphone are very sensitive to voltage fluctuations or current where is shouldn't be, once damaged they are damaged... drying doesn't change that.
You can give it time to dry more, but most likely it was damaged too much even in a second or two. And only waiting three hours before trying again was not a good move as three hours isn't enough time to allow those tiny drops of water to evaporate.

Some say rice does nothing, but I'd leave it in the rice and put it on your water heater to help it dry out - 24 - 36 hours should be good enough.

Water "resistant" is a something that I think all manufactures should work towards.... not going to save every device dropped in a pool for a few seconds, but it might help.

You screwed up by putting the battery back in so early.... it's done. hopefully warranty can cover it.

Once damaged... it's damaged, you'll need to replace it. Doesn't hurt to rice it and wait a few days - if you can live without it. But most likely its too late.
