Doubt on Blackberry Blend

Hi Crackberry users,

had a lil doubt regarding blackberry blend. please forgive me if its sounds stupid. i am new here . so my question is will blackberry blend support os 7.1 devices or is it restricted to only the os 10.x devices ? now please dont yell at me for sticking to os 7.1 . i kinda like qwerty more without touchscreen . yes i have used torch, iphone and androids . and the main reason being that the place where i am posted now , the mobile tower offers very less bandwidth and normal data plan takes ages to send and recieve bbm . so fb and browsing is a far away dream . and os7.1 devices compensate bye using BIS . i am able to seamlessly communicate due to the compression of BIS. so i would really appreciate to know if the blend app can somehow sync on to my laptop.

Well, there is still demand for OS 7.1 devices (as evidenced by BlackBerry doing another production run of BB9900 devices) but for Blend to be supported on non-BB10 devices, BlackBerry would have to develop the "server" app for OS7.1. I don't think it requires a full OS update (the basic capability is similar to Bridge), but I wouldn't get your hopes up too high.... that said, it may be that the Blend CLIENT on Windows / iPad etc. will also be able to connect to Bridge on BBOS devices... in that case, you'll be limited to a subset of what Bridge can do, but that was pretty good. BB may update "Bridge" on OS7.1 to Blend, but the better question is: with the PlayBook get a Blend client!?

BlackBerry hasn't said much about Blend at all, and hopefully they'll "launch" it on the same day as the Passport (September 24th) and at that time they'll disclose a lot more detail than they have to this point.
