I cannot get the prompt to enter the unlock code, but when I put my T-Mobile sim card in, everything still says Alltel. I am at a loss of what to do and I am not very tech savy so I have to have everything spelled out to me, lol. Help!!

When you put your SIM in, does it allow you to make phone calls?

When I tried to make a call to someone in my contacts list it gave instructions for a collect call; I had actually picked a contact that was uploaded to the phone from my sim card.

Ok, if it allows calling using your current SIM then I would say that the device is in fact unlocked. As for the collect call think, is the phone number complete with country code, area code and full number .Sounds like it might be trying to route as if it were calling outside your home area.

If the device were locked, you would not be able to call anyone other than 911 and possibly 611(your carrier customer care)
