I've read that the dtek60 does not have a file manager nor the ability to read PDF, and or MS Word or Excel

Can anyone confirm that or recommend software that will meet that need?

Well, it is an Android device. You have the whole play store at your feet. For PDF there is Adobe reader, for instance. But some office software can read PDF files too. I normally use Kingsoft Office, it is pretty good and free. But there is plenty of choices.

    Have fun trying and choosing.

I use FX (by NextApp) from the Play Store. Works well for me.
