I have a Blackberry Torch 9800 phone which works well with my current business sim using UMA to signal boost through my home wifi. I need to return the business sim and get a new sim for this phone but do I have to choose a Blackberry sim in order for the UMA to work, or will UMA work with a standard sim? I only need to use the phone for calls, texts and wifi so don't really need the other services that BIS provides. But it is essential that I can still access the UMA function in the phone as the signal is non-existent indoors without it.
So, will my UMA still work with a standard sim?
Many thanks to anyone who can help.

There's no such thing as a BlackBerry SIM; BIS is actually a type of data plan. And you should be ok for UMA getting just a SIM and no data plan. But make sure your carrier did sell the 9800 at some point in time, or else you'll have to do some work to enable UMA on your phone.
