Assuming you have a "normal" contact with first, second and company names and notes, how can you search for this contact without using the various names but rather a word in the contacts notes? I'm on the latest version of BB10, on a Q5

From your home screen tap the magnifying glass and just start typing in who or what you are looking for.
The search feature on the device is pretty robust and powerful.
For example if you want to you could compose a FB status or a tweet without even leaving the search app, just start typing in 'Facebook' and look at the search results that start popping up

But it does not search trough notes.
For me this is very important as I put much information there.

I call this being discussed before but I don't recall the details. I thought there was some trick someone suggested

Oh I see my bad. I misunderstood the question.
Most common solution seems to be downloading an apk of Contacts Search Advanced, it still doesn't search all fields but apparently it will search the notes section
