I really hate stock android emojis, they are awful and weird looking. I would like to know whether is possible to change them to a whatsapp style emojis. I've read that requires root in order to change emojis and I'm pretty sure root can't be done. 👐

Well, you answered your own question. Emoji are part of the fonts so apps can easily use different fonts and thereby use different emoji, like WhatsApp uses Apple emoji. I had an SMS app that used "its own" emoji as well a few years back, I think it was GO SMS, if that could help you.

But a system-wide change, though trivial with an app like this Emoji Switcher (root) - Android Apps on Google Play or manually, requires changing fonts which are in a protected part of the file system and that requires root access which is not possible on BlackBerry Androids.

You can change emoji's and fonts and still use BlackBerry keyboard. See. This is on my DTEK50 and same on my Priv.

Yes and you can change styles to. I'll post a picture of my phone. It's only for texting though.

Chompsms. Paid version, well I patched it so it's actually free lol. Download apps then patch them with Lucky Patcher to get any app free. Or you can use a play store where every app and game, icon packs etc all free. Free Play Stores are on top row.
