While the auto-caps function (beginning of a sentence, etc.) seems to work when using the keyboard, using the caps arrow isn't working. Does anyone know, did I click on some setting inadvertently? What gives?

Unless you have a key remapper installed I don't see any setting that would affect it. It should work unless there is something physically wrong with the key.

Thanks for responding to my question.I haven't loaded any third-party apps but did activate Swype. However further investigation revealed, it's only the left shift key that has a problem. So now my dilemma is, do I live w/it since there are several alternatives for caps on the Priv? Or do I go thru the hassle of getting a new phone set up? because it's brand new, darn it!
I'd get a brand new phone. Here's why. There are key combinations that function like computer shortcuts for cutting and pasting, and other things. To do them, you need to set a physical key to be the CONTROL key. The most logical is the right up arrow if you are right handed. But whether you are right handed or sinister you will want one for shift and one for CONTROL.
Another reason is that I typed the word control in all caps by holding down the shift key on the left. You should be able to do that too, so you can yell in your writings.
The final reason is that you have a new phone and a new phone should work right.
My brother is left handed and I call it sinister. No offense intended, if you are also sinister. It is a family joke that I can't edit out of my public dealings.

Oh and I have Skype too. It didn't disable my left shift key. I think your keyboard is defective. Your phone should be under warranty. Call BlackBerry.
