can you create personalized themes on the priv like you could on previous bb's?

I have recently bought the BB Priv and I love it! I have got a beautiful case(on order), and new wallpaper, but I'd like the phone to resemble a bit more of my personality! is there a way of creating (or buying) a theme for Priv to match one's unique taste?

Not on the Priv itself. You need to download a launcher and customize that. I use Nova launcher. Then you can add different icon packs and widgets...either Zooper or KWGT. You can also do klwp on the Nova launcher. All those apps are paid as well. SO nothing free that will make you happy.

If this is what you mean by themes, then yes. You need Nova Launcher Pro, KWGT and KLWP Pro. then you need to either download icon packs or buy them in the Play store. G+ is where we all hang out and customize our screens and share wallpapers and icons and weather sets, etc. If you want to know more, PM me.

OP, if you want to stick with the BlackBerry Launcher (which I think is far superior to all the rest), you can spice it up with wallpapers and widgets.

Can you just have one of your own pics as the theme?

You can have any photo as your wallpaper - either pick your icons and/or widgets and choose a wallpaper to match, or vice versa.
