    The Q10 looks like a great phone for me, with its keyboard and long battery life. Truth is, I really don't need access to the internet or my e-mail through my phone. Can I buy one and use it as a traditional voice and text message phone?

    Yes, you can. You can choose to not get a data plan (if your carrier allows this,) or simply keep WiFi and mobile data off.
