Let's say for example I am looking for cellphone providers and I enter the company name in browser. Most commonly you get the top google search at the top (or paid ad) with the thumbnail of google maps with the red pins etc. Am I missing something because every other mobile device and mobile browser I have ever used allows you to click on and expand said map....exceeeeept blackberry. Did they really overlook this function?

This is a limitation that GOOGLE has put in place, not BlackBerry.
All you need to do is click More on the top of that Google page and then select Maps and voila, you will see the Google Map with your search result.

Thanks for the tip! It's been a year with this phone and I can't believe I didn't figure that one out - no more switching back and forth with the maps app for this girl!
