    I have just purchased a Blackberry Passport and wondered if you can lock apps on the home screen so as they are not moved away by other apps?

    Yes. Hold the app until they all bounce a bit, then move the ones you want to the top positions. After that, any app that opens will park itself below those you just moved, and those ones you moved won't ever get bumped.
