How can one download an app that is only open to download in specific regions? My banking app forced to upgrade while I was outside Canada and BlackBerry World didn't let me upgrade. I had to use the painful web version.

just a thought ..... would a vpn connection (using a Canadian server) do the trick?

Thanks for the reply. I do have a VPN on my Z30 but I'm not sure where its server is. Sure enough it didn't work. The BlackBerry World found out where I was, even after I removed my SIM and connected on my VPN. Will check the server location and get back.

OK, I ping'ed their domain address to find their I address and then looked it up. The IP address is London, UK. That might be why even with a VPN I can't connect to BlackBerry World Canada.

Would that be the BMO app? Had the same problem. Still using the actual website. But there is a login link for portables in it. It helps, kind of. For now.

Just checked the server location for VPN45. It's in Holland. Does anyone know a VPN app that uses a server in Canada?

Thanks jope28. I installed hide.me. Server in New Brunswick, Canada, which is fine. The weird thing Is that the vpn connection only connects when the mobile network on my phone is ON, ie, I must be connected to my mobile carrier. It doesn't work on wifi alone. When I tried to download my banking app (Scotiabank) it didn't show it on the list, as if I'm still outside Canada. There must be a way to do this.

Weird that it doesn't connect for you on WiFi.
I just turned off "mobile network", connected to Hide.me on WiFi and "refreshed" BlackBerry App World to get the Canadian apps to appear.

Here are the screenshots of my VPN setup pages. I have set it up exactly according to the installation instructions. I have no idea why it does not connect on Wifi only (cellular data off).
