I have a BB Bold 9900, service provider is Bell (Canada) and I'm wondering if I would be able to use it with a French SIM card if I unlock it. My phone says Bands 1,2,5,6 but I'm not sure if it will work with all service providers in France. Thoughts?

    Thank you!

French carriers use 2100 MHz and 900 MHz (bands 1 and 8, respectively) for UMTS (3G and/or HSPA+). As you pointed out, your phone already has band 1, so where there's 2100 MHz coverage, you will have a UMTS signal. And hopefully, 900 MHz is supplementary to 2100, and not the primary network, so that you don't go without at least 3G coverage.
