I got a used 9900 off eBay, and I am happy with it, but I want something a bit more special and elegant. Figured the leather cover of the 9000 was something to consider.

While I have not seen or touch the 9000, is that a phone worth buying in 2017? I don't know if there is Blackberry travel available, or even if I get BIS service these days.

For pure phone calls, for very little money, what would you prefer and why?

"For pure phone calls" I would go with a flip phone (most are free or $49.95).
