    Hello

My blackberry q5 kept turning itself off so I let the battery go empty of charge, hoping I might be able to restart it. But now it's having trouble charging. A red light stays on for about 5 seconds, followed by a flash of a green light, and then it just keeps repeating that (there's nothing appearing on the screen), and it does not seem to be gaining any charge, but maybe that is because the battery is empty so I just need to leave it for a good few hours?

Is this just it charging or is there a bigger problem that can possibly be fixed?

I had something similar happen to a Q10. I would power it up and it would immediately power down. The fix, though puzzling, was to take the battery out and leave it out overnight, then put it back in and charge til full.
