Hi guys I am getting a priv for 475 USD in ebay vs 850 USD in amazone.

Ebay :- no manufacturers guarantee. 1 year seller guarantee. It's a brand new at&t unlocked phone from the us or Latin America I guess.

Amazone :- manufacturers guarantee.

A known person working with channel sales in blackberry had once told me that even hardware in phones are different depending on which country they wd be supplied to. And hence this device that I wd get from ebay may give trouble.

Anyone who has been using an unloacked phones? Please share ur experience

An unlocked AT&T branded Priv still relies on AT&T for its updates, and currently requires an active AT&T SIM to get them.

A factory-unlocked device will get updates immediately, direct from BlackBerry.

There are no hardware differences related to region - only related to model variants.

There are differences related to region. The Canadian Priv lacks wireless charging.

Canadian Privs from ShopBlackberry Canada have wireless charging. STV100-1.

Carrier Privs do not. STV100-3.

As I said, different models.

hey conite i read somewhere today that the priv update to android 6 marshmallow happening through play store. if thats the case how does it matter even if the phone was originally at&t. updates could be loaded thro the play store!! cant it be?

OS updates do not occur through the Play Store, only the BlackBerry apps do.
