I plug in to charge, the red light comes on for about 10 seconds, then the green light gives 5 blinks and nothing else.

Let it charge for a while and then check it.

You will probably have to do that several times. Check around the forums for stack charging. I've had to do that with my Playbook if the kids let it drain too far and shut off. Pain in the rear.
