Hey there, I noticed that the price of the Passport jumped up to $900 to more than $1000 on amazon.com. What is going on?

That's from an Amazon UK storefront. US1,000 convert to approximately 625 pounds....still not bad. But yes, it's almost like sticker shock initially!

^^. Any 3rd party can price it as high as they want. If its in demand people will pay for it. Especially if it's hard to get.

Well, the thing is, BB Store receives orders for cheaper. Why should Amazon tries to sell them for more. BB Official Store vs. Amazon. It is obviously an easy choice, lol

**NOTE: Amazon sells it for $599(the reason why it's not showing up is because it's not in stock atm)..the higher prices you see on Amazon are from 3rd parties.

    Now to answer you question..

Because people are impatient and want the Passport right away.

    Some reasons are as follows:

Currently buying passports through shopblackberry is on back order..some people don't want to wait until they get them in stock. Thus some people buy through 3rd parties..yes way more expensive..but they will get it quicker..which obviously is "their" main concern.

Another reason is some places around the world..people can't buy through shopblackberry..thus they will go through 3rd parties.

Some of those high prices are resellers who bought from amazon at 599 and are jacking up the price. The catch is they are also waiting for their orders to be filled. You fork out close to a grand only to find out the seller is waiting for the phone from amazon then turning around and shipping it to you for a huge markup pretty sad and ridiculous. Hoping I get the chance to order one again as tmobile is a joke right along with att...
